I wonder how those people use shorthand code in translating the conversation or speeches into a cryptic script.

I know Gregg shorthand is known for this shorthand transcription.

They use dots, dashes and curves to represent sounds. The three common shorthand is Gregg, Teeline and Pittman(the first shorthand invented by Isaac Pittman). Of the three, Teeline is the easiest.
